Barbecue Beef Short Ribs

Barbecue Beef Short Ribs
Short ribs are a type of rib cut from the beef brisket, which is located near the breast of the cow. The ribs are slow-cooked in a flavorful barbecue sauce made with a combination of ingredients such as brown sugar, vinegar, and spices. The ribs are typically cooked until they are tender and fall off the bone, and they are served hot, often with additional barbecue sauce on top.

Approx times: Prep: 15 min - Cook: 2 - 2½ hours
Ingredients
Serves 4
  • 2-3 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Pat the beef short ribs dry, season with salt and black pepper.
  • In a bowl, combine barbecue sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Mix until the brown sugar is fully dissolved.
  • Place the short ribs in a baking dish. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated on all sides.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2.5 hours. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of baking to allow the sauce to thicken and the ribs to develop a nice crust.
  • Baste the ribs with the sauce every 30 minutes to keep them moist and flavorful.
  • The ribs should be fork-tender, and the internal temp should reach at least 145°F (63°C).
  • Carefully remove the beef short ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes.
